Requirements for becoming a Behavior Management Technician:

The BMT designation allows an individual to educate and train others in the key competencies of behavior management. The BMT must maintain an active certification that is renewed on an annual basis.

A Mental Health Technician cares for individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities, following the instructions of physicians or other health practitioners. A Mental Health Technician may monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff, or participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs, help with personal hygiene, and administer oral or injectable medications.
Upon successful completion of the Behavior Manager Certificate program, you will be eligible for the Mental Health Technician certification and may schedule to sit for the examination on the AMCA website listed at the right.
