Board-Certified Behavior Manager (BM-C)

  •  The Behavior Manager Certificate is an entry-level credential designed for direct-care and support staff who work with individuals exhibiting behavioral, emotional, or cognitive challenges. This certificate provides foundational training in behavior observation, basic behavior support strategies, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and professional communication within interdisciplinary teams. It prepares participants to recognize triggers, respond safely and ethically to behavioral concerns, and support care plans under clinical or supervisory guidance, serving as a gateway to advanced behavioral health, mental health, or human services roles.

  • The Behavior Manager designation allows an individual to educate and train others in the key competencies of behavior management. The Behavior Manager must maintain an active certification that is renewed on an annual basis.
